Operating principle<\/span><\/h1>

MINK claw vacuum pumps and compressors feature two claw-shaped rotors. The rotors are mounted in a housing and move in opposite directions. The shape of these claw rotors extracts, compresses and expels the pumped medium.<\/span><\/p>

The minimal clearance between the rotors and the chamber housing optimizes the internal seal. So, no lubricants or operating fluids are required in the compression chamber.<\/span><\/p>

MINK vacuum pumps and compressors are driven by a directly flange-mounted motor. A synchronizing gearbox maintains precise rotor timing.<\/span><\/p>

          Operating principle fuel cell<\/span><\/h2><\/div>

          In a\u00a0fuel cell<\/b><\/span>, a combination of hydrogen (coming from the tank) and oxygen (from the air) produces\u00a0electricity, heat and water as a by-product.<\/b><\/span><\/p>

          A\u00a0fuel cell<\/b><\/span>\u00a0consists of two electrodes, an\u00a0anode<\/b><\/span>\u00a0and a\u00a0cathode.<\/b><\/span>\u00a0A\u00a0membrane<\/b><\/span>\u00a0separates them from each other and is responsible for the ion transport.<\/p>

          Hydrogen is supplied on the anode side, oxygen on the cathode side. The hydrogen molecules are split into\u00a0protons and electrons.<\/b><\/span><\/p>

          The hydrogen protons\u00a0diffuse through the membrane<\/b>\u00a0<\/span>to the cathode, where they react with the oxygen to form water, thereby releasing\u00a0energy<\/span>.<\/b><\/p>

          It is important that oxygen does not diffuse into the hydrogen loop to prevent explosive\u00a0<\/span>conditions<\/span>.<\/b>\u00a0Therefore, hydrogen is injected in a higher quantity. This excess hydrogen shall not be released to the atmosphere because of legal regulations and efficiency reasons.<\/p>

          The solution is to\u00a0recirculate<\/b><\/span>\u00a0it back to the system inlet. For that purpose, our MINK MH claw compressor comes into operation.
