Rotary lobe vacuum pumps and blowers operate according to the proven Roots principle. Two rotary lobes are mounted in parallel within the housing. These three-bladed lobes operate in opposite directions. The rotation of the lobes traps the pumped medium, compresses it and transports it to the next stage or to the outlet.
The lobes do not come in contact with each other or the housing. Thus, no lubricants or operating fluids are required in the process chamber.
The two lobes are driven by a pair of gear wheels located on the shaft ends of the gearbox and separated from the compression chamber. This maintains precise synchronous rotor timing.
